After two years of pandemic, where we had to close ourselves to the world, I wanted to make this new series of pendants inspired by the sacred scarabs of ancient Egypt, as a symbol of rebirth and a better future.

In the culture of ancient Egypt, the beetle, it was a symbol of the resurrection and eternal rebirth in becoming and transforming. Thanks to that, it ensured only happy events and a constant improvement of the intuitive and spiritual faculties.

This precious pendant is made with the same material used for Tutankhamun's pectoral: Tektite Gialla, also called Libyan Gold Glass. It is a glass of meteoric origins of a pale straw yellow colour, full of symbolic and esoteric properties, which then add to the scarab's talismanic power.

I carved this beetle by hand in my workshop. It is part of a limited edition of 12 unique numbered pieces made from a large Libyan Tektite nugget (Lybian glass) found in the Hamada al Hamra desert. The mineral glass of this tektite is of exceptional quality and transparency.

These are the coordinates of the discovery of the Tekite nugget:

This pendant is no. 5 of 12.

I engraved this scarab by polishing some parts (chest, the head and the lower part) and frosting the others (the elitre), to give an antique effect, almost like an excavation object. Then I added a simple gold loop deliberately left raw, to accentuate the effect of an archaeological find. These beetles came out of the big nugget each with their own personality, so each of my beetles is different from the other!
