Amber heart pendant ”IMPERFECT HEART”

Amber messicana incisa, 925 / °° silver.

The pendant a cuore è un grande classico dell’oreficieria e dell’ornamento. Io l’ho voluto interpretare tagliando dell’ambra grezza di varie provenienze e con un taglio talvolta grezzo ed irregolare, per ottenere, infine, un cuore ”IMPERFETTO” , come il cuore di ognuno di noi, pieno di piccoli difetti, ma vero, da amare proprio per questo. Questo grande cuore l’ho ricavato da un grezzo di ambra messicana gialla trasparente di grande limpidezza con alcune ghiacciature orizzontali.

Heart measurement: mm 25 x 46circa. Total length of the pendant : mm 50 circa.
Triangle loop in silver or gold, internal diameter of the bushing: mm 6 – 7 circa.

Mexican Amber is found in the state of Chiapas in southern Mexico, and it was already known at the time of the ancient Mayan and Aztec civilizations. Amber from Chiapas is a fossilized resin of prehistoric leguminous forests which over the millennia has taken on the color and characteristics that distinguish it.

The possible colors to meet are: dark red to yellow, light honey or cognac, with characteristic bluish-green reflections if placed on a dark background. Its geological age dates back to approx 22 – 26 millions of years. The amber from those regions has a color that varies from bright yellow to red-brown.

I forged the loop in 925 / °° silver, triangle, rigidly fixed. All worked by hand in my workshop with traditional equipment and techniques.
