Amber heart pendant ”IMPERFECT HEART”

Amber baltica incisa, 925 / °° silver.

The pendant a cuore è un grande classico dell’oreficieria e dell’ornamento. Io l’ho voluto interpretare tagliando dell’ambra grezza di varie provenienze e con un taglio talvolta grezzo ed irregolare, per ottenere, infine, un cuore ”IMPERFETTO” , come il cuore di ognuno di noi, pieno di piccoli difetti, ma vero, da amare proprio per questo. Questo grande cuore l’ho ricavato da un grezzo di ambra baltica gialla semitrasparente piena di inclusioni vegetali molto fini, che danno all’insieme un aspetto puntinato del tutto unico. Sul retro del cuore vi sono alcuni avvallamenti e buchi derivanti da bolle naturali presenti nella materia grezza.

Triangle loop in silver or gold, internal diameter of the bushing: mm 6 – 7 circa.

The Baltic Amber (mineralogical name: succinite) it is one of the most important and ancient fossilized resins, has at least 40 millions of years. Proviene, as the name says, from the countries bordering the Baltic Sea, such as Poland, Russia and Lithuania. Other deposits have also been found in Denmark and in the countries of the Scandinavian Peninsula , like Sweden and Finland. Thanks to its warm and attractive colors it is the best known type of amber on the market.

I forged the loop in 925 / °° silver, triangle, rigidly fixed. All worked by hand in my workshop with traditional equipment and techniques.
