Long necklace with pearls and jade '' FORBIDDEN CITY ''.

Necklace length cm 72 circa; central measures cm 4,5 x 13 circa.

Following a visit to a beautiful exhibition on imperial China, and given the very high quality and variety of the jewels on display, I made a small series of necklaces dedicated to the emperor's city, calling it precisely, ''FORBIDDEN CITY''.

I therefore created this long necklace in high quality spherical freshwater pearls with a centerpiece with an engraved jade disc (the most popular stone in China). I mounted the jade with burnished gold and silver to give an antique patina to the whole jewel.

The 'firing' of jade is a heating treatment that is carried out to obtain an antique patina on the jades that are engraved on models inspired by the imperial eras.

Parts in 750 / °° yellow gold and burnished 925 / °° silver, they are all worked and embossed with techniques I invented in my laboratory, obviously by hand and with traditional equipment.

Like any of mine jewel, this necklace will also be shipped in a suitable gift box accompanied by a guarantee of authenticity stamped and signed CORAL NORD.
