Grande necklace in Mediterranean red coral and lava stone, with yellow gold closure. Total length cm 95.

Coral is a talisman used since ancient times: he gave himself as a protection and as a bringer of health (red like good blood) and fertility.

I made this important series starting from some threads of corallo red with large and very raw slices’ defined as 'factory' quality. The very irregular and raw surface of this coral made me think of the lava stone, which often has very similar spongy and irregular surfaces.

I then added some lava stone elements of various shapes and colors from brown to dark black, practicing inlays with small spheres of red coral in the larger elements, To give some color points here and there.

I then used a large naturally cable element to create a large 't closure’ , or hammer, in yellow gold, and slipped all the elements of the necklace with burnished silver thread linked to 'Rosario'.
